This Privacy Policy explains how CORVAISIER, established at 35270 Combourg, France ("we", "us"), collects and processes personal data when you use the Sing It Like Britney mobile application (the "App"). We act as the data controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data we collect
1.1 Used without an account
You can browse the catalog, search, sing along and record locally without signing in. In this mode we collect:
- Anonymous usage signals — search terms, favorited artists, recordings created. These are stored without any identifier that links them to you and are used only to rank our karaoke catalog.
- Subscription receipts — if you subscribe, Apple or Google sends us a receipt token to verify entitlement on our server. The receipt does not include payment details.
- Push notification token — if you grant notification permission, the device token issued by Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging is stored to deliver renewal and engagement reminders.
- Voice recordings — recordings you create from the microphone are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded unless you explicitly choose to share one.
1.2 If you sign in
Sign-in is optional and only required to share recordings or submit scores. When you sign in we receive from Apple or Google:
- A stable user identifier;
- Your email address (which Apple may relay through a private address);
- Your display name, if you choose to provide it.
1.3 If you share a recording
When you tap "Share", the encoded voice file you recorded is uploaded to our server together with a reference to the YouTube video ID and timestamp offset. Recipients of your share link can play the recording back over the corresponding video and submit a numeric score. We never store the original copyrighted audio — only your voice.
2. Why we process this data (legal bases)
- To provide the App (contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) — running the catalog, search proxy, recording sharing, scoring and subscription verification.
- Microphone and recording (consent, GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) — we ask for explicit consent the first time you tap the mic. You can revoke microphone permission at any time in your device settings.
- Catalog ranking (legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) — anonymous usage signals help us surface the karaoke tracks people actually want.
- Push notifications (consent, GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) — sent only after you accept the system permission prompt.
3. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. Limited data is shared with the following processors:
- Apple Inc. and Google LLC — to handle Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In, push notifications and subscription billing.
- YouTube (Google LLC) — search queries are forwarded to the YouTube Data API through our server. The query text is sent without any account identifier.
- Hosting provider — our server is operated on infrastructure located in the European Union.
4. Retention
- Shared recordings are deleted automatically 30 days after upload, or sooner if you delete them from the App.
- Anonymous usage signals are pruned after 90 days.
- Account data (sign-in identifier, subscription state, device tokens) is kept while your account is active and erased on deletion.
- Local recordings remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your personal data. You may exercise these rights at any time:
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL) or your local supervisory authority.
6. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can erase it.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Voice recordings shared from the App are stored in a non-public bucket and served only via short, opaque links. Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore.
8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at singitlikebritney.com/privacy. Material changes will be flagged in-app.
